HVAC and ventilation testing.
We check that ventilation and air-conditioning systems deliver their design airflows and that ductwork is airtight. Airflow, duct leakage and heat exchanger tests are in our accredited scope, and the same team handles balancing.

What we test
HVAC and ventilation testing
Airflow – Pitot traverse
Velocity-area method with static Pitot tubes in ducts and air handling units (ISO 3966:2023).
Flow through orifices and Venturi tubes
Water and air flow with differential-pressure devices (EN ISO 5167-1 and -2:2022).
Duct leakage
Ductwork air-tightness from 750 Pa negative to 2000 Pa positive pressure (EN 1507, EN 12237, DW/143, DW/144, EUROVENT 2/2, SMACNA).
Heat exchanger performance
Testing to EN 305 and EN 306.
Balancing and regulation
Hydronic and air balancing, ultrasonic measurement on pipes and equipment capacity checks. These services are outside the accredited scope.

Balancing, ultrasonic pipe flow measurement and balancing-valve measurements are engineering services outside the accredited scope.
Process
How it works
- 01
Design review
We establish design flows, pressures and the leakage class.
- 02
Test points
We choose cross-sections and the measuring grid and drill test ports.
- 03
Airflow measurement
Flow is measured in each section with a Pitot tube or orifice.
- 04
Leakage test
A section of ductwork is sealed, pressurized and the leakage measured.
- 05
Adjustment
Dampers and valves are adjusted where needed and the test repeated.
- 06
Report
A test report comparing results with the design.
What you get
Report and results
- Test report from an accredited laboratory

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How is duct airflow measured?
Usually by the velocity-area method: a Pitot tube measures velocity at several points across the duct and the flow is calculated from the mean velocity and area. It is in our scope to ISO 3966:2023.
What is a duct leakage test?
A section of ductwork is sealed and pressurized and the air needed to hold the pressure is measured. The airtightness class follows from EN 12237 or EN 1507.
To what pressure do you test?
Per our scope, from 750 Pa negative to 2000 Pa positive pressure.
Do you also balance systems?
Yes, as an engineering service; final measurements are done by the accredited laboratory. Ultrasonic pipe measurement and balancing-valve measurement are not in the accredited scope.
Is this needed for handover?
Clients, supervisors and inspection committees often ask for proof that design flows are achieved and ducts are airtight. An accredited test report provides it.
